Super Sub: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer steps in for Mourinho

Chill pill to all Manchester United fans – minds are all at rest and a new Manager in place. Who? The Super Sub himself! Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been asked to step in as interim manager on Manchester United’s hot seat. Will he still have that Super Sub effect even as a manager?

Back in his good old times as a player with the club Ole Gunnar Solskjaer quickly became known for his late goals after coming off the bench, earning him the title of Super Sub.

THROWBACK. One of Solskjaer’s legendary moments at Man Utd is his injury time goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final of 1999 which earned Manchester United the title of European Champions. He also impressively scored four goals in 12 minutes against Nottingham Forest in an 8-1 win in February 1999. WOW

Breaking the news first of Solskjaer’s appointment was surprisingly the Norwegian Prime Minister herself Erna Solberg, who posted the following post on Twitter even before Manchester United announcing it themselves:

The post was deleted minutes later. SPOILER ALERT next time please Mrs Prime Minister!

Loony wishes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all the best of luck on his new adventure!
